A fresh start can be as ordinary as choosing tomorrow's lunch. You do not need a special event or an elaborate plan to think about what would make daily routines easier.
Begin with the part of your week that feels most rushed. Perhaps it is breakfast before work, a late dinner or finding time to shop.
Choose one useful task
Try one of these practical ideas:
- Write a short list for two meals you already enjoy.
- Check the fridge and pantry before shopping.
- Choose a recipe with steps that fit your available time.
- Leave room in the plan for leftovers or a shared meal.
The point is to make a plan you can use, rather than create another demanding list.
Build around familiar foods
Australian dietary guidance recommends variety across vegetables, fruit, grain foods, protein foods, and dairy foods or suitable alternatives. It also includes safe preparation and storage. NHMRC — Australian dietary guidelines.

Review what worked
At the end of the week, ask what was convenient and what you would like to repeat. If a plan did not fit, change the plan. You can keep the useful parts without making food a test of willpower.
