What is the lymphatic system?
The lymphatic system is a delicate road map of vessels that circulate lymphatic fluid around the body, flushing out any toxins, bacteria and other waste from your water system. This is an important process for a strong immune system.
A healthy lymphatic system will flow easily. However, this flow can become sluggish and lead to a build-up of fluid, bacteria or other cells. This can cause infection, inflamed organs, bloating or even lymphoma, a form of cancer.
What is lymphatic drainage massage?
Your lymphatic system relies on the movement of your body to transport the lymphatic fluid to the heart and circulate it around the body. Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle massage that encourages this functioning of the lymphatic system, increasing the flow of fluid. This assists the body in the natural process of flushing out toxins.
Lymphatic drainage massage is an entire body treatment that can help relax your nervous system, detox, boost your immunity, detox and purify your body.
How can it help me?
There are many benefits to lymphatic drainage massage including:
- Strengthening your immune system (preventative treatment of lymph infections such as tonsillitis)
- Treats swelling, pain and scar tissue
- Improves fluid circulation and prevents build-up
- Cleanses major organs
- Relieves symptoms of chronic disorders such as arthritis, PCOS, sinusitis, headaches, migraines and lymphoedema.
After treatment you may feel lighter, have a deeper night’s sleep and increased alertness. If you suffer from pain and swelling you may notice a reduction in inflammation after a few treatments.
