What is Craniosacral Therapy?
CranioSacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on therapy that corrects imbalances in the body centred on the skull, vertebral column, sacrum and cerebrospinal fluid.
How does Craniosacral Therapy Work?
The CranioSacral System refers to the fluid (cerebrospinal fluid) and compartments found in and around the brain, the spinal cord, as well as to the bones that either directly or indirectly interacts with this system. This system moves the cerebrospinal fluid within and around the central nervous system producing a vital body rhythm, equally important to health and well-being as the beating of the heart or the breath. CranioSacral therapy uses light touch to evaluate the ease and motion of the fluid. Using this information, treatment involves very gently mobilising and releasing the body using specialised techniques where ever there are restrictions found.

What to Expect at a Consult?
CranioSacral therapy is performed on a massage table with the client fully clothed. The practitioner will touch the client lightly on different places on or around the head, neck, back, hips, legs or arms. The client may or may not feel anything as the practitioner evaluates and corrects the cranial rhythm and restrictions. Often clients are deeply relaxed. This form of therapy is safe for all ages. Sessions typically last for 60 minutes and may be incorporated with other types of body work (massage, acupressure, osteopathy) and/or energy work, depending on your needs.
